The OneWorld Department Fair is an annual celebration designed to highlight the essential work of our many departments and programs. This event brings together over 600 staff members in a day of discovery, learning, and camaraderie, all set in the north ballroom of the historic Livestock Exchange Building. Each department creates a unique, interactive booth, using creativity and expertise to share their contributions to our mission of building a healthier community. These displays provide colleagues with a deeper understanding of how each team supports our patients and organization, while also encouraging cross-departmental connections.
Last year, 20 different departments participated, including Information Technology, the Learning Community Center, Marketing and Development, Medical, Dental, Operations, Behavioral Health, and Social Work, among others. Each booth offered an engaging look at the department’s daily work, challenges, and successes, turning the ballroom into a vibrant showcase of talent and teamwork.

The Department Fair is not just for our staff—it’s also an opportunity to share the OneWorld story with the wider community. We invite special guests, including Omaha’s Mayor John Ewing, members of our Board of Directors, the Patient Advisory Board, and Nebraska State Senators Dunixi Guereca and Margo Juarez. Their presence allows them to see firsthand the dedication and impact of our staff, and to better understand the many facets of community healthcare.

The atmosphere is made even more festive by The Pancake Man, who serves a delicious breakfast and entertains guests in the south ballroom, adding fun and flavor to the day. The Department Fair is truly a highlight of the year—an event that celebrates our people, our work, and our mission in the heart of our historic building.
