A book in a child's hands builds language, supports brain development, and helps create lasting bonds with family. As participants in Reach Out & Read, our clinicians talk with caregivers about the power of reading with their children and send every well-child patient age 5 and under home with a brand-new book. In celebration of Community Health Center Week, we're inviting the whole community, to help fill our waiting room shelves with more books for young patients to take home and keep. Drop off new or gently used children's books at the donation bins at the front desks of 220 Unity Street or 6060 Portal Way, August 3 - 7 from 8am PM to 5 PM.
